Foam / FRP Vs. Balsa built

I want to know the difference between wings made of Foam core frp covered (vaccuum bagged) and traditionally built balsa monokote covered ????
the main thing is..... is one lighter than the other (of course at best build standards)
and anyother difference ...please do tell !
