Battery at 0% and won't charge
I know some of you will say the HDX18 is a couple years old, and it's probably time for a new battery, BUT, this HDX18 has spent most of it's life either OFF or plugged into AC when it was being used. BatteryBar shows 9.6% wear.
My question is this--is there any way to help this battery into taking a charge? I've tried multiple AC chargers, but no go, and also tried gently dropping the battery onto a hard floor.
Also, does anyone have any experience with compatible/clone batteries? I'm smart enough to not buy one from China, but there are a few sellers of compatible HDX18 batteries on ebay backing their battery with a good warranty. Granted, I use mine on AC mostly, so I'm not looking for the best battery with regards to runtime, but $50 is a lot better than $140 that HP wants.
