My cat is acting strange (re: pregnancy)
We have three cats, all female, 10, 7 and 2.
The 10 year old has been with us since before we were married, so she's been around for all my pregnancies. She's a very sweet, loving cat, normally.
When I was pregnant with ds, she got a little weird. Mostly really possesive of dh, but that blew over, and we figured it was normal, because she was our first "child" and it was an adjustment.
With dd, she was fine, and kind of dismissive.
Now, five years later, she's downright mean to me. She'll leap right at my stomach, when I'm sleeping. If I'm sitting down, she'll try to jump right on the bump where the baby is. She tries to run across my stomach, any given chance, and she knows what she is doing.
I've always held her, a lot. But now, I barely hold her, because even when I hold her, she does her kneading right into parts of my belly where it hurts. I know she's upset about that, but she knows why I'm not holding her.
I know she's getting on in years, but this is so not like her.
And strangely enough, the other two, who are usually kind of mean to me when I'm not pregnant are all lovey dovey and cuddly.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them? What did you do?
I'm really tired of waking up with her about to land on me and having to bat her away into mid air. She's tiny and fragile, and I hate this. Why can't she be nice?
