Choking Hazard: Not for children under 3 years old...
So I am not sure how they decide on the magical cut-off date of three, but I was kind of relieved that we had hit three and DD really had not put many things in her mouth and now 2 weeks later she is and its very upsetting. I am not sure if its because she was around a 2 year old the other day when I left her with the babysitter or what. Anyhow apparently we are backwards!
Is it because they are less likely to put things in their mouth at 3 or because the gag reflex and risk of choking is apparently less? I really am getting gray hairs!
... some guidelines we could use? I assume hard objects the size of a pea are potential toddlerchokinghazards, but how about these:
- raisins
- dried garbanzo ... to watch out for?
Also - how big should an object be in order to NOT consider it a chokinghazard (I'm thinking toy pieces)?

Thanks.
... small and not the easiest thing to chew, but she promised to watch him very carefully with them. She just called back to say that they are very small (so, chokinghazard, or not? ), and that he loves them.
Should I be concerned? DS is a very good eater, and doesn't often choke on food, if ever.

We have All Year Round and it is great. Unfortunatley it was missplaced during our move. I am thinking of buying the Children's Year as well. Would it be redundant to have both books. Just wondering whether it will be worth having too.
