Seagate FreeAgent Desk (External 1TB) wont power on
now the HDD doesnt power on nor is it seen in windows. When i do give the HDD power it does try to "seek" but eventually stops. Even with that it doesnt detect in windows.
i do have important data and a crucial backup on it.
- is my HDD dead?
- if the HDD itself is safe, can i open the case and hook up the HDD itself to another computer and recover the data WITHOUT voiding the warranty?
if all else fails its back to seagate.
