Headaches, Vertigo, Dizziness, Confusion, Memory Loss
I have had severe headaches on the "crown" of my head for years. Sometimes on only one side, and sometimes on both. In December 2006, I had an episode of vertigo so bad I was hugging a palm tree to keep from falling down. Since the vertigo, the dizziness never goes away, vertigo always seems to be "just on the verge" of happening, I have moments of confusion, and my short-term memory has gotten very bad. My headaches are still with me. I have fallen from the dizziness several times. If I so much as nod or shake my head, I get very dizzy, and cannot stand. I get very dizzy and get a headache if I exert myself, or lift heavy objects. I get very dizzy and get a headache if I'm emotionally stressed.
I have had MRIs, CT Scans, UltraSounds, BPPV tests, and nothing has proven to be the cause. The symptoms have been gradually getting worse.
What do I do next? Who do I go to next? This is getting bad enough I may not be able to work much longer. I see these symptoms discussed everywhere, but no one seems to have an answer. If anyone knows of a specialist or doctor that has determined what this is, let me know. I'll travel/move anywhere that I can get some answers. Even if it can't be cured.
I'd like to know if it's life-threatening -- besides the falling risk, of course.
