Swollen Nasal glands- Can't breathe!!
I have VERY large swollen glands on the inside of my nose near the opening.. If I look inside my nostrils I can actually see the pinkish glands obstructing my nasal passage. When I am sleeping laying on one side often clogs my nostril completely that I can't breathe very well... This has been chronic for about 2 years now... I had my tonsils removed (from frequent strep throat) and this helped my breathing however my nasal passage is still very clogged.
My ear/nose/throat specialist has prescribed me nasal sprays both over the counter and prescription and NOTHING is working. He did a CT scan and all that showed was one blockage on one side that didn't seem to be large enough to be removed. I have a slight deviated septum but he also doesn't feel it is an issue. All he noticed was that my glands are very swollen and large...
I am worried as to why my nasal glands on the inside of my nostrils are so enlarged and won't respond to treatments? I barely have any sense of smell and my upper respiratory always feels clogged like I have a headcold or allergies.. I have no known allergies at this time... I suffer from extreme fatigue and am starting to think this is the reason? I don't snore or have any sleep apnea that I know about.... My fiance has never heard me snore, and I rarely wake up during the night... I just ALWAYS wake up feeling unrested and drowsy..
Does anyone have any recommendations, should I seek a second opinion from another doctor?
