Hot/Cold Sensation WITH Redness
So here's my question/quandry. I am still insecure as to whether or not there's something more going on than MS here. Once you have this diagnosis it's pretty easy to write almost EVERYTHING off to it! One of the things that's been going on with me that I didn't really even pay attention to until I got my dx and became "ultra" aware is that there's something weird with left leg, really mostly my thigh. My left leg will feel differently than my right if both feet are on a cold floor. (Kind of like internal air conditioning for a fleeting moment.) When I go get out of the shower my left thigh will feel a little hot and it does other times as well (although more pronounced after the shower).
Okay, so I know these all sound typical of MS. But here's the thing. My left thigh is noticably RED. For lack of a better explaination, it's like the veins are more to the surface. Kind of blotchy but it's NOT a rash. It gets redder after the shower. I have not come across anything about a visible redness with MS so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something like this.
I showed my internist today and he's a little stumped as well. He called my neurologist to suggest that perhaps doing a full spine MRI might be a good idea to make sure there's nothing else going on. Obviously, I'm concerned that this could be attributable to the bad back injury and the neuropathy I'm experiencing is not just because of MS.
Does this symptom (redness) sound familiar to anyone who's experiencing hot/cold sensations in an extremity?
