CALCIUM DEPOSITS in unborn baby's heart
I am 20 weeks pregnant and thought everything was going fine. My obstetrician said she noticed a "bright spot" in my unborn baby's heart and told me to go see a pediatric cardiologist for a fetal echocardiogram in 2 weeks! They say it maybe related to Chromosomal problems, and when I asked her if it will cause down syndrome the Doctor said that a geneticist will confirm that but CALCIUM DEPOSITS a.k.a. Echogenic Foci in the heart is very common at this stage it may go away before the baby is born but it's better if I talk to a geneticist because they know better than the doctors.
I had my Nuchal Screening and Integrated Test done and everything came out normal. My DH had a defibrillator put in 2 weeks ago due to heart palpitations that could cause a heart attack if not attended to right away, he has IHSS diagnosed when he was 11 years old but never had an episode of an attack, just a scare two weeks ago and he ended up getting a defibrillator put in. Did anyone have this findings after the level 2 U/S? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
